Psychic Senses and Your Nervous System
Conditioning the human vessel to act as a robust conduit for higher dimensional information
Over the years as I have opened up to my multi-dimensional abilities, I have consistently received an adamant message from my guides regarding the importance of caring for my nervous system. At first, I was unclear about what exactly the health of my nervous system had to do with tapping into higher dimensional streams of consciousness, communicating with beings from other realms or effectively channeling energy for the purpose of facilitating a healing session for my clients. While I immersed myself in my studies of energy healing and exploration of the Akashic Field, I was also deeply involved in the pursuit of higher-level competitive athletic aspirations in the sports of CrossFit and Powerlifting. Both sports required a delicate balance of training stimulus (activation of the sympathetic nervous system) and recovery (activation of the parasympathetic nervous system). I was in a perpetual cycle of walking the tight rope of training to reach my goals without over-doing it and falling off the rope, so to speak. I began to notice that as a result of over-training my physical body, my ability to tap into higher dimensional energies was hampered. It wasn’t until I completely “retired” from competitive athletic training that I was able to access my higher dimensional abilities on a deeper and more consistent level.
In order to understand the mechanisms behind this phenomenon, it is important to have a base level and logical understanding of our human nervous system.
Our nervous system is a complex blueprint that allows our body to coordinate our movements and integrate sensory information by transmitting signals between different parts of the whole. The nervous system detects environmental changes and works in tandem with the endocrine system to respond to such events. The Central Nervous System (CNS) consists of the brain and spinal cord. The Periphery Nervous System (PNS) consists mainly of nerves that connect the CNS to transmit and receive signals from all parts of the body. The PNS is further divided into three sub-systems:
Somatic- Nerves that mediate involuntary responses such as breathing, beating of the heart and constriction of the blood vessels
Enseric- Governs the function of the gastro-intestinal tract. It is capable of acting independently of the CNS and PNS through the brain and spinal cord, though it may be influenced by them.
Automatic- further broken down into:
Sympathetic- Activated in cases of necessity to mobilize energy
Parasympathetic- Activated during times of relaxation
So, what exactly is the interplay between these elements of our physical body and our ability to tap into our psychic senses?
Higher dimensional information exists in the form of higher frequency “packets” that are transmitted into our bio-energetic field and subsequently interpreted through our nervous system. The healthy functioning and resilience of both our CNS and PNS will be a determining factor in the ability to perceive and integrate these “frequency packets” into useful messages, thoughts or images. Those who are sensitive to energies bring more current through their system naturally. Especially if he/she taps into higher dimensional realms regularly, it can be taxing on all parts of the nervous system. This burden is magnified when coupled with periods of high life stress and will result in our system becoming “frazzled” and over stimulated.
When our nervous system becomes overloaded, we will in a sense, ‘trip the breaker of the system’. Once the breaker is tripped, so to speak, the vibratory information from higher realms (and often even sensory input from our 3D world) cannot flow optimally. Imagine the situation to be like cogs in a machine becoming jammed and the machine grinding to a halt. If we continue to receive higher energies and push the machine forcefully, this is when burnout happens. We experience the deleterious effects on all levels of our well being: physical, emotional and mental.
Fortunately, with awareness and conscious effort, this state of burnout can be avoided.
The following are several physical, emotional and mental indications that your ‘circuit breaker’ might be tripped:
Overly sensitive to noise
Unable to quiet your mind
Shallow breathing or difficulty catching your breath
Sleep disturbances
Unusual fluctuations in fluid levels in the body (suddenly retaining water)
Unusual or unexplained episodes of anxiety
Unusual or unexplained emotional volatility
Unusual aversion to crowds or being around others in general
The following are strategies for “resetting the breaker” to avoid a state of burnout:
Most importantly, conduct daily clearing of the energy body and perform consistent grounding practices throughout the day.
Engage in dedicated periods of “rest without remorse”, DO NOT allow yourself to feel any guilt or shame for scheduling downtime, as feeling guilt nearly defeats the purpose of relaxation.
Vagal toning exercises can be key in stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. A few of my favorites include:
Take a deep breath in quickly, hold for 2-3 seconds. Slowly release, making sure to exhale markedly slower than your inhale. Do this several times in a row until you invoke a yawning response. A yawn response is indicitave of parasympathetic activation.
Begin by turning your head fully to one side then the other. Notice if there is any remarkable tension. Most people who are experiencing a “trip in their breaker” will recognize that one direction is markedly tighter than the other. Next, lie on your back with your palms interlaced behind your head. Be sure your chin is pointed straight upwards the entire time. Look as far right as possible without turning your head. Hold for 30 seconds. Look as far left as possible without turning your head. Hold for 30 seconds. Complete as many rounds of this exercise as you feel called. Most people will experience a yawn response once the parasympathetic system has been activated. At this point, sit or stand and test to see if you can turn your head side to side without encumberment.
Simple massaging of any sore pressure points in the back of the head right above your neck can be helpful in stimulating a response from the vagal nerve. Also massage or stretch the skin around your neck and throat area. Tapping at your collar bone can be helpful as well, especially when scalar toning or humming is incorporated.
We can increase the capacity of our nervous system as well as our tolerance for high frequency information by introducing stresses (namely connecting to extra-dimensional fields for the purposes of energy work or intuitive readings) in a controlled manner then clearing our energy fields and grounding consistently. Repeat the process over and over, WITHOUT tripping the breaker. In time, we will train our nervous system to expand in tolerance and resiliency. The key is DO NOT go so far as to cause the cogs in the machine to grind to a halt.
It is worth noting that those who are sensitive to energy may experience a heightened nervous system response during solar events such as solar flares, Celestial events (especially full moons) and during periods of extreme emotional volatility within the collective. During such times, it may be best to consider reducing life stressors as much as possible to compensate for the extra load on your system.
