The Pineal Gland

“My view is that this gland is the principal seat of the soul”

-Descartes

In the mystic and metaphysical community the pineal gland is often referenced as being a major psychic reception center for the receipt and interpretation of extra-dimensional information. It is a tiny, pinecone shaped gland that is about the size of a raisin. It is seated in the center of the brain.

The scientific community has identified the pineal gland as being a part of the endocrine system, as it plays an important role in regulating body functions such as our circadian rhythms (sleep/wake cycles), neurotransmitter secretion and the regulation of certain hormones including estrogen, progesterone and DHEA.

The pineal gland is also linked to the production of dimethyltryptamine or DMT, also known as the “spirit molecule”, which is a substance found in certain plants that can be consumed to induce psychedelic experiences.

Not widely reported in scientific circles, however is the role the pineal gland plays in our ability to receive multi-dimensional information and subsequently interpret it. We experience this occurrence in the form of visions, premonitions or even through our eyes when we see ‘beyond the veil’. The pineal gland is the receptor, it is our third eye and the seat of our sense of clairvoyance.

The pineal gland is bio-luminescent, meaning it facilitates a chemical reaction which allows it to produce and emit light. It is crystalline in structure and displays piezo-electric properties as well. This means it can accumulate and transmit an electrical charge. As a transducer of multi-dimensional fields, it receives electro-magnetic energies and responds by producing a light frequency which we then interpret visually, either in our mind in the form of pictures or “movies”, or even with our physical eyes in those instances we see orbs, ghosts or extra-dimensional beings.

Unlike the rest of our brain, the pineal gland is not separated by the blood-brain barrier. In fact, it relies upon a rich supply of blood. This means that it is susceptible to a buildup of potential toxins from the blood supply. This is why we often hear of the importance of de-calcifying the pineal gland in order to improve our psychic abilities.

Some of the most detrimental toxins to the pineal gland are: fluoride (from water supply, toothpaste and other dental products), and heavy metals such as mercury and aluminum. There are a number of ways we can de-calcify the pineal gland. As always, I encourage you to do your own research and find what works best for you. However, here are some things I personally find to be beneficial:

  • Avoid fluoride in toothcare products and at the dentist

  • Drink the purest water possible, filtered with charcoal filtration system if possible

  • Complete a 60 day regiment of bentonite clay comsumption, twice per year or as necessary

  • Consume organic fruits and veggies if possible

  • Consume foods high in chlorophyl (dark green leafy veggies, wheat grass, blue green algae) or take supplementation if necessary. Chlorella supplement is quite beneficial for me

  • Consume iodine rich foods (sea-weed or kelp) or supplement if necessary

In addition, I find it incredibly helpful to engage the pineal gland energetically. We can do this through using mantras or toning techniques. One of my favorites is a practice where, sitting in meditation, I take a deep inhale, press my tongue firmly to the roof on my mouth, and then on the exhale I use the mantra OHM. This is a widely used tone that is known to activate the third eye. The act of pressing the tongue to the roof of the mouth is believed to directly stimulate the pineal gland.

— Dean Cavanaugh

Also, we can draw energy through the pineal gland by engaging our child-like imagination. Every time that we use our imagination, we are stimulating energetic impulses that reverberate through our pineal gland which brings healing and activation to that psychic reception center.
